The landscape has changed so much for gay couples, who are not typified by the brave and outrageous queens of 1972, but are represented in every corner of society – I am not you, but I’m here for you and would love to conduct your wedding in whatever way you would like me to.
So, with all that gay culture under my belt (not to mention my outlook and fashion sense), I turned to my friends for validation and pronounced myself a Gay Icon.
This fundamentally qualifies me to boast of the many queer weddings I’ve conducted since
December 8th, 2017, when marriage equality was cemented in Australian law.
In fact, over more than a quarter of a century, I have conducted over 1,000 weddings, from intimate elopements to complex rituals, with style, sophistication and youthful energy.
I’ve always been drawn to inclusive weddings and faith and cultures from all over the world. Marriage equality just affirmed my position!
